General Information
Safe Riding
The WCC draws a wide range of riders with different levels of experience and abilities. All riders in the WCC must observe safe riding practices, including OBEYING ALL TRAFFIC LAWS, passing safely while calling out your presence, and avoiding creating any risk or hazard for your fellow riders. You will be required to agree to these terms during registration and will be bound to them.
Types of bikes
Road, hybrid, mountain, cruiser, gravel bikes, recumbent, and trikes are welcome, as well as Class 1 or Class 3 (pedal assist) e-bikes.
Class 2 e-bikes (e-bikes with a throttle) are NOT ALLOWED.
Tandems
Tandems are welcome. Each rider must register separately.
Pavement
The WCC routes are entirely paved (no gravel), but there are short stretches of older, rougher pavement. We recommend 28 mm or larger tires. Please use caution at all times, but especially on rough pavement.
Routes*
The WCC routes are designed for a variety of riders and abilities. The 35-mile route is mostly flat and suitable for cyclists comfortable with that distance. The 100-km route requires more ascending, but rewards riders with more scenery and a visit to the Warm Springs Dam. The Century is demanding and should be chosen only by those trained and experienced at that distance. Again, the additional scenery is an added reward.
*Routes can change due to unforeseen circumstances. Please download the latest routes about one week before the event.
Support Available
Riders on the WCC are expected to be self-sufficient, but when needed, are well-supported in several ways:
- Ambassadors riding on each route will be available to support and assist riders who need help on the road.
- California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers will be stationed at key intersections to slow traffic and promote rider safety.
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS) vehicles will be located around the routes to respond to urgent needs.
- Radio operators at the start/finish and each rest stop will quickly be able to deploy services as needed.
- Mechanics will be available at the start and at most rest stops to help address mechanical and technical problems.
- Customer Service at the start/finish can provide information, promotions, and lost-and-found items.
- Drop bags. Riders wishing to shed clothing after the morning chill will be able to drop items at some of the early rest stops and have those items carried ahead to the finish line. Items will be available at Customer Service.
Weather
The weather in May is variable, typically cool and sometimes overcast in the morning and sunny and warm in the afternoon. The event is held “rain or shine.” Please follow the weather forecast in the days leading up to the event and come prepared.
Rest Stops
Rest stops are conveniently placed along the routes at intervals of about 20 miles or less. They are well-stocked with a variety of beverages and snacks. Each rest stop will feature some special offering to surprise you.
After Party Meals and Drinks
Your bib will have a tear-off “meal tab” and “beer/wine tab.” These can be used for a free meal and beverage at the after-party. You can purchase an extra beer ticket at the event. Unlimited non-alcoholic beverages are included with the meal. A limited number of extra meal tickets will be available for non-riders to purchase at the after-party.
Photographs
Photographers at the start/finish and along the routes will capture your pictures. Registrants will receive a link to the photos after the event. Find your photos by searching your bib or bike plate number. Mounting your bike plate facing front on your handlebars is the easiest and best way to find your photos.
Bike Corral
There will be a supervised, cordoned-off Bike Corral for your bike during check-in and after the ride, but we cannot guarantee its security. We recommend you lock it or, if practical, place it safely in your vehicle.
Group Discounts
Sorry, group discounts are not available.
Merchandise
T-shirts can be pre-ordered and picked up at the event. A limited number of t-shirts will also be available for purchase at the event.
Merchandise (other than T-shirts) ordered through March 9 will be shipped to you ahead of the event. Merchandise ordered after March 9, including all T-shirts, will be available for pick up at the event. A limited number of clothing items will be available for purchase at the on-site store.
If you need to exchange clothing for a better size, bring it to the on-site store, and we will exchange it for the correct size, if available. If you have specific questions about apparel, email Store@SRCC.com.
Transfers, Changes, and Refunds
If you find that you no longer need your registration, you can use your BikeReg/Outside account to transfer it to another person. There will be a cutoff date for transfers to allow time to print bibs and bike plates. Transfers must be completed by 4/30/2026 at 10 am PDT. To make a transfer, log into your BikeReg account and choose the “Transfer” option. Follow the directions to complete a transfer to another person who has paid you directly (if applicable) for the entry.
